Physician Assistants form an integral part of the Cardiac Surgical Program throughout the world. Keeping up with the momentum from across the globe, the Physician Assistants in our nation having keeping up the pace with progress in academics, clinical trials and data management.

Cardiac Surgery is a highly specialized field that demands precision, efficiency and a multi- disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Physician Assistant play a pivotal role in the cardiac surgical team, contributing their expertise in preoperative, intraopertive and postoperative care. Their involvement enhances the quality of care, reduces the workload of surgeons and improves the overall well being of the patients.

By taking on routine and specialized tasks, PAs allow cardiac surgeons to focus on complex aspects of surgery. This delegation not only improves the workflow, but also enhances the overall quality of care. As the healthcare continues to evolve, the contribution of PAs in cardiac surgery is likely to expand, further enhancing the capabilities of surgical teams.

The Physician Assistant's forum of IACTS has the contribution of stalwarts like Dr. K.M.Cherian, Dr. Suresh Rao, Dr. S.Rajan, Dr. P.Chandrasekar and others. Keeping up the tradition, IACTSCON 2025 is extremely privileged to conduct the Physician Assistant's forum on 22/02/2025. It will be a one full day program, filled with an academic bonanza including a key note address by Dr. P.Chandrasekar. There will be quite a few informative academic talks by senior Physician Assistant's from across the country. We will also organize a free paper session in the afternoon for the PAs and will carry three awards as well.

We usually conduct a IACTS Certification exam every year which is taken up by numerous PAs. This helps in the physician assistants to endorse themselves in terms of opportunities and professional progress. This year too, the exam will be conducted on 23/02/2025. The exam will be a two hour exam session which is aptitude based and will be followed by a viva. This IACTS certification exam is a very recognized certification. The certificate will be handed over by the President of IACTS in the following IACTS conference 2026.

There is a nominal fees of Rs 1000 for the exam which needs to be paid online to the IACTS office.
